1) We wanted everything blacked out and having paint on brake lines didn't bother either of us.2) I had to do a significant amount of arm twisting to talk a certain someone **cough cough...Justin....cough** into doing anything cosmetic to the engine bay at all. He is more of the mind set...."no faster, no care". So this was our happy medium. I would have taken everything out and chromed the shit out of it if he would have let me ;-) I am really glad that we tackled this project ourselves. I learned a lot during the paint process and am anxious to try it again. My buddy has a beater Corolla that I may attempt a full repaint on this summer.
